Welcome to the official website/blog for Mary Burns’ Ancestral Women: Wisconsin’s 12 Tribes
The Ancestral Women exhibit honors women’s journeys from all cultures by creating their portraits in jacquard weavings, while Ancestral Women: Wisconsin’s 12 Tribes celebrates elders from each of Wisconsin’s native tribes with a woven portrait.
Mary, an award-winning jacquard weaver and fiber artist, will be updating this page as the project progresses. Stay tuned to see the ancestral women’s journey unfold and watch the process of Mary weaving them into life!
